Every other Sunday, Lambert HOSA has the unique opportunity to work with Meals By Grace. Meals By Grace is a non-profit organization that works on providing for students who are in need in Forsyth County. Lambert HOSA volunteers work to prepare meals for families in need by helping to cut fruit, pack meals, and much more. We look forward to our continuous involvement with Meals By Grace!
We have two great events coming up: Fall Leadership Conference (FLC) & State Leadership Conference (SLC). FLC is in Athens this year and we couldn't be more excited! With keynote speakers and multiple seminars, FLC is chocked full of fun. Also, SLC is closer than you think...start studying for one of the many competitions now to guarantee that spot on the podium! If the competitions don't entice you, just think of the beautiful Atlanta skyline from the Marriott Marquis! You don't want to miss out!
Our members are given the opportunity to connect with those at the Antebellum Nursing Home. They pass out goody bags and listen to some of the elderly share stories about there life and the lessons they have learned. Some of our members are also talented musicians and have the opportunity to share their talent with the people at the nursing home.
Fall Rally was the perfect introduction to the HOSA year, with an inspiring guest speaker speaking about our national service project, the national pediatric cancer foundation. Members enjoyed the rides that the state fair had to offer, while also indulging in any fried food you can imagine!
Our members experienced a fright fest as they attempted the human table (nothing to fear!) and learned about the up-coming events for the month of October and early November!
HOSA members spread joy to families who were picking up their t-shirts for the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Parade at the Cumming Fair Grounds.
On October 5th, 2018 Lambert HOSA raised money for the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation at Lambert High School's highly anticipated "Lambert vs South" football game. The football game was a "Pink-Out" theme in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Our goal was to not only raise funds to support Pediatric Cancer Research, but also to raise awareness among the community. Therefore, we organized a bake sale to sell baked-items such as cake pops, cookies, brownies, etc. all for a dollar. In addition to everyone's "pink gear" for the game, we gave each parent and student a gold ribbon to wear during the game to show their support towards Pediatric Cancer Research. Our football game was a huge success, raising over $500 in just one night!
